Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister met with his Greek Cypriot partner at the end of the week, with an end goal to grow reciprocal relations and territorial collaboration.

The Kingdom’s Foreign Minister, Faisal canister Farhan, made a visit toward the south of the island of Cyprus on Sunday, meeting with his Cypriot partner, Ioannis Kasoulides. Following that gathering, a joint question and answer session was held in which container Farhan expressed that Riyadh sees Nicosia as a “span” among Europe and the Middle East.

He additionally said that the Kingdom sees the Greek Cypriot organization as an essential accomplice in Vision 2030 — Riyadh’s excellent methodology to broaden its economy away from oil income, further open up to worldwide business and the travel industry and change its general public.

Kasoulides invited the Saudi Foreign Minister’s commendation, saying that southern Cyprus upholds the headway in relations between the Kingdom and the European Union overall.

Albeit the visit and the gathering of the two unfamiliar clergymen were done with an end goal to progress reciprocal relations and participation, Riyadh’s perspective on Cyprus as an extension between the Middle East and Europe might be deciphered as an endeavor to sideline Turkey — the country which the two partners consider an adversary and which is all the more generally credited to being such a “span” between the areas.

Notwithstanding strains among Turkey and Saudi Arabia having quieted throughout the most recent year, the Kingdom has recently been straightforwardly vocal in its help for the Greek Cypriot government against Turkish interests in the Mediterranean.
