Tunisian Foreign Minister Othman Jerandi has met with his Syrian partner Faisal Mekdad uninvolved in the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York, the Tunisian Foreign Ministry said in an assertion yesterday.

Jerandi and Mekdad evaluated reciprocal relations, the new advancements in Syria, and the way to a political settlement for the emergency, the assertion clarified.

This is the principal public gathering between the unfamiliar priests in almost nine years.

Tunisia was the primary Arab nation to cut off strategic relations with Syria in February 20212 over the Syrian system’s unreasonable utilization of brutality to stifle system dissenters.

Two months prior, the Tunisian General Labor Union brought in a letter addressed to President Kais Saied to reestablish discretionary relations with Damascus.
