Turkiye says no warship has passed Bosporus since the Ukraine war
Turkiye said no warship has gone through the Straits since the nation confined them through the Turkish Straits, Defense Minister, Hulusi Akar, said Wednesday, Anadolu News Agency reports.
As per the report, Turkiye carried out the Montreux Convention to obstruct warships because of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
“There has been no entry or a solicitation for the section through the Straits until now,” Akar said.
Ankara is agreeable regarding Ukraine’s power, and political and regional trustworthiness, the President said. “We consider Russia’s assault unsuitable and value the battle of the Ukrainian public,” he added.
After the flare-up of the Ukraine war, Turkiye cautioned both Black Sea and non-Black Sea nations to not go warships through the Bosporus and Dardanelles Straits in accordance with a Convention that gives it command over the section of military vessels in the essential region.
